Life should be supported by the left and right!

Te pro life position should have support across the left right spectrum. I congratulate Mehdi Hasan for this article. He is already being denounced by his leftist friends. Being Pro-Life Doesn't Make Me Any Less Of A Lefty> Listening to fellow pundits on the left react with rage and disbelief to the support by the Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, for halving the abortion time limit to 12 weeks, I was reminded of the late Christopher Hitchens. "[A]nyone who has ever seen a sonogram or has spent even an hour with a textbook on embryology knows that emotions are not the deciding factor [in abortions]," wrote the Hitch in his column for the Nation magazine in April 1989. "In order to terminate a pregnancy, you have to still a heartbeat, switch off a developing brain . . . break some bones and rupture some organs."

Good to see a pro-life leftist argument. It's also nice to see right wing pro-choice arguments. This issue (abortion) is a difficult one, and doesn't naturally break down along right/left lines.

Once one's position on abortion becomes part of one's identity as a right-wing or left-wing person, one probably stops *thinking* about the issue... which I think is a bad thing.

1152, the only thinking the pro-abortion faction does is how to put distance between themselves and other mass murderers. The intentional killing of millions of people under the pretext of "helping" and "caring" requires some extraordinary "thinking" indeed.

The vast majority of the population supports abortion in some circumstances, doesn't it?
