I attended the North American Premiere of Thermae Roma at TIFF. I was a bit concerned that the movie was in Japanese with subtitles, but I was pleasantly surprised. As you can see the Producer, main stars and authour of the Manga, that the movie is based on all flew in for the event. It was an interesting movie in praise of Japanese culture. It is a time travel movie with an unemployed ancient Roman architect travelling to Modern Japan. It was subtitled very well. There were few subtitles and they were succinct. I found the movie very enjoyable and quite funny. More pics here.
