The final concert of the OSM season was quite spectacular. It concluded with scenes from Faphnis and Chloe with the world famous Cirque Eloize. Andrew Wan did a masterful solo of the Shostakovich Violin Concerto. It was a wonderful evening of music. A hundred years later, 30 years after the mythic recording by the OSM that was honored with the Grand Prix du Disque from the Académie Charles Cros, Kent Nagano conducts the magnificent Ravel ballet score. Cirque Éloize adds a new visual dimension to this musical tableau inspired by Greek mythology.
