Lord Black got no special privilege

For those of you whining that Lord Black is being differently, Jonathan Kay has an answer for you. Two words for anyone who thinks Conrad Black shouldn’t be let back into Canada: Lindsay Lohan. Back in 2011, readers will recall, the actress pled no contest to misdemeanor theft and probation violation, after being caught stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewellery store in Venice, Calif. This was on top of her various drunk-driving charges. She is on informal probation until 2014. And yet, our immigration authorities somehow decided to let this monster roam free in Canada during the filming of an upcoming Elizabeth Taylor biopic for Lifetime Television. (Alas, in the end, she ended up staying home: The producers switched the film location to L.A. after their star allegedly slugged Marisa Dugas.)

You're deranged. Why you adore a man who bought his Lordship and swindled people out of their money is beyond me. Garden variety crook, end of.

Why you think this guy is special is beyond me. You seem to believe that a Lord would not sully his hands with something as tacky as crime and he was unjustly persecuted for unknown reasons. He was, in fact, convicted and also lost his appeal. Buying a peerage no more makes you Royalty than buying an I-Phone makes you Steve Jobs.

I Support Lord Black
