MMFA: Fragmentation

Nathalie Bondil, Director of the MMFA

Robert Lepage   Alain  Thibault ( Artistic Director Bian)

I went to the opening at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts of an exhibition of a new technology. It is scenes from a movie in 3D that you can see from 6 different angles. It was part of the Biennial International Digital Arts Festival(BIAN). The evnt was pretty packed. There were many artists in the room. I saw a few of the red squares denoting support of student radicals, but not very many. Surprising because there were a lot of artsy people and they are usually pretty left wing. Robert Lepage did speak. he is an amazingly talented man. I recently saw his Mirvish production of Blue Dragon. The installation was quite impressive. One had the impression one could walk into the scene. If you are in Montreal you should go see it. It is free until August 5, 2012
