I saw Billy Elliot the Musical in London about 3 years ago. Mirvish Productions has brought it to Toronto. I enjoyed the show, but was reminded of Baroness Thatcher fight against the NUM, which brought to mind Governor Scott Walker's fight against the unions in Wisconsin today.
There is a vile song in the show wishing death on Baroness Thatcher.
The production was not quite as good as the London production , but it was still pretty good. In the end the union is broken and Billy gets what he wants, so it is a happy ending.
Mrs Thatcher's fight against the unions made me admire her all the more. I wish Governor Walker luck in his battle as well.
