The iffy Dean Scream

The new CPC ads feature the iffy Dean scream. The lefty journalists from the cbc and red star are quick to come to the defense of the grits. It's all very amusing as are the ads themselves. Get used to seeing the iffy Dean scream. No need for grit ads or responses. No need for grits grassroots fundraising they have the cbc and their other lefty journalists to jump to their defense.

How odd, with all this talk on Tory blogs about what you term the "iffy Dean scream" I wasn't sure whether I would cringe or laugh. Instead, I see a man who seems every bit the confident, dynamic leader.

Really, this is the first time I've seen Mr Ignatieff in this light. Don't get me wrong, I'm no Liberal - it's just that for this voter the ads have the opposite effect to what I am certain is intended. People will notice.

And a word to the wise at the CPC: airing two ads that use the same Michael Ignatieff clip in response to two different questions reveals your dishonesty.

I disagree, Dr. Roy, the ads are not at all amusing.

Read what The Phantom Observer -- not the CBC -- has to say about them.

These ads are funny, accurate and effective. The whining from the "Liberals" and their media comrades is even funnier. Politics is a blood sport, and framing you're opponent as a crass, opportunistic, political interloper, who's only in it for the sake of power is simply fair game. The "Liberals" and the media are trying to force an election, and when Iggo gave this speech it was high fives all around. Using Iggo's crass politicking against him is fair game. Stop whining about "Pooping Puffins" and grow a pair!

bertie, clearly you have me confused with someone else.

wilson, following your suggestion, I've shown the ads to my wife. She pretty much agrees with my observations. Not surprising, really - reading The Phantom Observer, Prairie Tory, Alberta Aardvark and others, I see that we're not alone in being critical of the ads.

I appreciate that you see them as effective.

True. You're NDP, through and through...

Then she's as big a liar as you are, Brian. No surprise there.

Well, that's the thing about being a Conservative, Brian...unlike you Dippers, we're allowed to disagree. Seems like a few people didn't get the joke. So what?

I appreciate that you see them as effective.

And I appreciate that they annoyed you so much that you were compelled to start trolling our blogs again, Brian. I just wish you were bright enough to realize that the whole point was to keep the 'Iffy scream' out there in the public eye long enough for people to start noticing how hard he had to work to fake his newfound 'passion'. C'mon, Liberals...didn't you learn anything from the flannel shirt and fake trees episodes? I do admit to enjoying watching Ignatieff speak, though...but only to laugh at him as his head swivels BACK and FORTH and BACK and FORTH like some kind of Disney animatronic creation. Still not quite as funny as watching Jack! pull a girl's arm out of the way on the camera so we could all see him cheering for Canada, but close...:)

Fred, a response. I have voted federally for the NDP, along with several other parties, but I'm hardly a New Democrat.

I don't see anything that might lead one to believe that I'm "annoyed" by the ads. Again, I find them odd and ineffective. I note that they've now been taken down.

A comment or two every few weeks on self-identified Conservative or Liberal blogs hardly fits the definition of trolling. That said, if any blog owner, Dr Roy included, would prefer that I not leave comments... well, I'll respect their wishes.

This has gone on a bit. Really, I would've ignored your comment had you not called my wife a liar. Since when, I wonder, has expressing an opinion been synonymous with lying?

I'm not asking you to withdraw the unfounded accusation that I am a liar, but I will ask that you do so for my wife. I'm sure you can appreciate and respect my request.

Is the ad we're talking about the "Yes! Yes! Yes!" ad?

If so, I don't have a problem with it. Iggy's pretty much said he wants an election -- heck, when hasn't he wanted one, then keeps backing out? Apparently, the Liberal$ have had over 100 opportunities to vote no confidence in the CPC government and never have.

Iggy's the boy who called "Wolf!" so many times that he lost credibility.

As far as the CPC slogan, "He didn't come back for you!": Right on!

Count Ignatieff came back for the Liberal backroom boys to put the Librano$ back in power and, into the bargain, to get himself a gold-plated pension and benefits package -- in other words, cash for life without winning the Lottery. Canadians have been saddled with this guy with a tin ear and lead tongue, who hasn't a clue what makes Canadians tick or what we need in order to build a strong, stable country. He only knows the slippery, slidey entitled, we're-better-than-everyone-else-because-we're-i-n-t-e-l-l-e-c-t-u-a-l-s leftards in the LPC and the media.

I don't mind seeing the CPC have a little fun with the LPC's anointed leader, and if certain c/Conservatives don't like it, that's fine. They don't have to live with the every day opprobrium of the Librano$ and their journalistic hacks in the media. 'Might as well be killed for a sheep as a lamb.

Oh, and a few more things about Iggy: He holidays in southern France a lot and, except for his ridiculous bus tours "of Canada" in order to make up for all the time he spends outside Canada, he's AWOL.

The CPC know this guy better than we do -- and so do the media, but they're not telling -- so I'm sure they know what they're talking about when they repeat, "He didn't come back for you!"

I've always discerned that he's a phony and only in the HOC for his own ends and any glory that being the leader of the LPC might bring his way. His bona fides as a politician are non-existent, whereas his credentials as a Rosedale/Forest Hill socialist are sterling.
