Christopher Hitchens

I don't like much of what Christopher Hitchens has to say about Christianity and the Royal Family. He has of late understood the jihadi threat and has written a lot of interesting and thoughtful things on that subject.
I was saddened to learn that Mr Hitchens is suffering from esophageal cancer. Unless caught very early, esophageal cancer is almost universally lethal. Another reason not to smoke and drink too much. I hope they have caught this early and Hitchens makes a complete recovery. If it is true that he is getting chemo, I am much less optimistic about his prognosis. Cure is surgical in this case. I will be praying for Mr Hitchens. I'm sure he couldn't care less, but it is my way of expressing my love for my neighbour.
Matthew 22:34-39
34But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. 35Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

So what you are saying is Chris is closer than he realizes to meeting the God he swears doesn't exist? Strangely ironic but I too will be praying for his earthly life to be extended. Of course I also pray that his eternal life will be one of joy and not suffering whenever it is that he shuffles off this mortal coil.

I too hope he stays well, even afetr he glaoted of the death of a Christain pastor that said things he disagreed with.
The irony of life to mock others until death comes to your door and then expect compassion. Like a hit-n-run victim expected to thank the driver because they called 9-1-1 for them and told the Police at the Hospital what happened as a 1st hand witness to the whole thing.
