R.I.P. Petty Officer Second Class Craig Blake

My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of this brave hero. His sacrifice for freedom must never be forgotten.

Petty Officer Second Class Craig Blake, 37, serving with the Fleet Diving Unit Atlantic, based in Halifax, had recently arrived in Afghanistan, to serve as part of team that defuses IEDs, the Taliban’s weapon of choice against foreign soldiers.

“ One conversation was all it took to like and respect him. ”
— Brigadier-General Dan Menard
He had successfully completed his mission near the village of Pay-e-Moluk on Monday when the blast struck at 4:30 p.m. local time.

Rest in peace soldier. God Bless You for the ultimate sacrifice you made in protecting our freedom and those of the innocent Afghans.

I pray that canadians realize that the sacrifices our soldiers make to perserve our FREEDOOM is not too be taken lightly but to help them as well by standing with our soldiers for the sake of 'freedom and democracy.'

Deepest sympathy to the families.
