That's who'll be the Premier of Ontario in 2011. That's not just me saying that. It will be good news for the long suffering people of Ontario, but it won;t come fast enough.
Here's a New Year's prediction, two months early: Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty is finished. The denouement will take a couple of years.
When the curtain falls for him it will be swift, brutal and decisive. The resulting lurch to the right, with all the attendant cuts to public services, union unrest and so on, will look very much like Mike Harris, Part Deux. And there is very little now that anyone, least of all the Ontario premier or those around him, can do to prevent it. It's too late.
Extreme? Not really.
When McGuinty came to power on Oct. 23, 2003, he already suffered from the perception that he lacked a certain je ne sais quoi in the spinal area. Indeed, many Ontarians seemed to like him because he lacked spine. He was so nice -- the anti-Harris. At the time, we needed nice. Once in office McGuinty immediately confirmed how nice he was by breaking his solemn promise not to run deficits or raise taxes.

Last bight a protest was held outside Caesar's Windsor Convention Centre where the Ontario Liberals are holding a policy convention.
It was the most appropriate time as last night was "Devil's Night"and Devil Dalton and his army of minions plotted, schemed and nefariously plan the further destruction of the province of Ontario and her people.
Caesar's will be a yoke around the neck of Ontario taxpayers if Ohio approves casino gambling, Caesar's will go bankrupt as the MGM Casino in Detroit.
My typing sucks.
I agree with this assessment, but Ontarians have woken up much too late. McGuinty can do ireparable damage to the economy in his remaining 2 years. A Liberal in his twilight, legacy phase is the most dangerous time for taxpayers.
Previous legislation dictating correct dogs, forcing store owners to hide tobacco, banning smoking in cars, etc. were merely minor irritants. His current policies like building massive solar and wind energy projects, full day kindergarden and Billion dollar eHealth systems can cripple Ontario for decades to come. The time to retire McGuinty was 2 years ago, voters will have to deal with that failure for a long time.
Hopefully by that time Alberta will have a new premier name Danielle Smith.
I'm confident Hudak will prove to be spineless Red-centrist who will do nothing about the OHRC or he excessive regulation/spending in Ontario beyond what is absolutely necessary to keep the province alive. LCBO and other government beneficiaries can relax.
I am just hoping he takes "David" with him!
