HM the Queen to visit Next Year

Though am disappointeed that HM is unable to open the 2010 Olympic Games, I am thrilled that HM the Queen and HRH Prince Phillip will be visitng next yearr. It is also wonderul that HRH Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall will be visiting in November.

PM welcomes announcement of royal visit by Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today welcomed the announcement that Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh have accepted the Government’s invitation to visit Canada in 2010.

“It is always a high honour to host a Royal Visit,” said the Prime Minister. “This visit by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will be a celebration of our shared heritage and values which are enduring sources of pride for millions of Canadians.”

The upcoming visit by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will be their first Royal Visit to Canada since 2005. The Government of Canada has also announced that Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will make a Royal Visit to Canada in November 2009.

Further details on the dates, locations and programme of the upcoming Royal Visit will be provided at a later date.
