All Star Gala Toronto

I went to the Westjet All Star Comedy Gala last night. I love to laugh and this gala gave me plenty of opportunity. The gala had an opening skit about the garbage strike , and several of the comics mentioned how clean Toronto was in spite of the strike. One of the comics in the skit made a statement in support of the union and most of the audience booed. The show stealers were Jeremy Hotz and my favourite John Pinette. They were both hysterically funny. John Caparulo was also pretty good. I had trouble understanding Jimeoin's accent. He did have some good material. Greg Proops was very occassionally funny, but he seems lost now that he can't bash George W. Bush for his entire act. He did manage to call President Bush caligula. He mused that at least President Bush hadn't appointed a horse to the senate. I heckled that the dems have, Al Franken, but I don't think he heard me. One of the audience members started texting during his act and he blasted him. That was amusing. He did actually make fun of the media cult of obamessiah, but only for a second. I sat in front of CBC's Jian Ghomeshi, who cheered on lefty proops and any mention of obamessiah. Surprise, surprise another CBC lefty.. All in all 2 hours of hysterical laughter.
