Jean Charest helped the bloc

I am very disappointed with Premier Charest. He basically helped the bloc in this election. he seems to have forgotten he is a federalist. Shame on you Jean Charest.

MONTREAL -- Premier Jean Charest was a great help to the Bloc Quebecois in the federal election, a leading Bloc MP said as the party's MPs and some defeated candidates gathered in Montreal Thursday for a postelection caucus meeting.

"Mr. Charest made demands that correspond to the Quebec consensus, and which the Bloc has been making for some time," said Pierre Paquette, the party's House leader in the last Parliament. "It shows he understands that there is a strong nationalist flame in Quebec."

Mr. Charest and some of his ministers repeatedly criticized Conservative policies during the election campaign, notably the Harper government's arts funding cuts and its claim to have settled the federal-provincial fiscal imbalance, both of which were prime Bloc hobby horses.
