This editorial basically says that the Red star editorial board feel that dion is a little mouse. They are encouraging him to go to the polls. I think that is a good idea. let's put dion and the grits out of their misery. I doubt dion will go to the polls. he will continue to be, as Joanne says, The Leader of Her Majesty's Loyal Party of Abstention.
Dion undermined by his reticence

At the outset of his meeting with the Star's editorial board last Friday, Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion rhymed off all the wrongdoings of the Conservative regime in Ottawa: the NAFTA leak, the Cadman affair, fiscal mismanagement, environmental insouciance, a "vendetta" against Ontario and, above all, Stephen Harper's intense partisanship, which is unbecoming of a prime minister.
But when asked why he won't join the other opposition parties to defeat the government and force an election, Dion responded weakly: "I don't think Canadians would appreciate it."
The real reason, which was hinted at but not stated explicitly by Dion, is that he and his party fear they would lose the ensuing election if they moved now to bring down the government.
"It's a strategic decision," concedes Senator David Smith, co-chairman of the Liberal campaign. "We're not going to just hand them (the Conservatives) an election on a silver platter when they want it.

Thanks for the link. I wonder what will happen when Flaherty sets up the vote regarding the RESP bill and the budget implementation. What will Dion do?
I think that the Red Star wants to cut its losses with its failing Liberal newsletter and dump Dion asap so they can get on with their socialist agenda.
It is better for the Conservative Party of Canada to keep governing, since the longer they do, the more Canadians will realize that they are governing well.
