irene criticized from coast to coast

Pet irene mathyssen has been criticized from coast to coast.
From Vancouver

Ontario NDP MP Irene Mathyssen's inexcusable rush to judgment over what she thought she saw on the laptop computer screen of B.C. Tory MP James Moore (Port Moody-Westwood-Port Coquitlam) was reprehensible enough.
But her brazen bid to link her false accusation against Moore to general assertions about male violence against women was repugnant. As we now know, the offending image on the laptop was not the "porn" Mathyssen's too-vivid imagination had conjured up, but a harmless photograph of Moore's girlfriend.
Mathyssen's apology cannot atone for the unpardonable stain on Moore's reputation.

To Newfoundland

Finally we have Irene Mathyssen, an Ontario NDP MP who rose in Parliament Wednesday to say she had seen Tory MP James Moore looking at images of “scantily clad” women on his laptop while the Commons was sitting.
His action, she told the House, “reflects an attitude of objectifying women,” noting the vile image was perused by Moore on the eve of the anniversary of Mark Lepine’s killing of 14 women in 1989.
Turns out the photo was of Moore’s girlfriend.
Mathyssen later apologized, but not after effectively calling Moore a dirty old man in front of the nation, without even speaking to him before making her allegation.
Perhaps it’s too much to expect rationality from the deeply offended. After all, they’re not getting much blood to their brains, what with most of it trapped by knotted knickers in their nether regions.

And Halifax

How low can you go when it comes to decorum, fairness and common decency in the House of Commons?
Far too low, as we witnessed last week when an opposition MP accused a Tory parliamentary secretary of viewing porn on his laptop computer.
It turns out that the allegation from Ontario New Democrat Irene Mathyssen was completely false, forcing her to apologize to British Columbia MP James Moore. What Ms. Mathyseen saw as she peeked at Mr. Moore’s laptop in the ornate chamber were photos of his bikini-clad girlfriend.
That the NDP MP was secretly spying on her Commons colleague is unbecoming in and of itself, but for her to hurl such accusations without finding out the truth first is reckless.
An apology is not enough: Further disciplinary action is warranted from her caucus and from her fellow MPs.

And the Globe and Mail

Is Mathyssen's statement enough? The NDP MP repeated her disgusting/false accusations outside of the House of Commons where members may be subjected to lawsuits: "There was an image of a scantily clad woman in very flimsy lingerie...It was dark in colour and she was a brunette.

"It was, I would say, not hard porn by any stretch," said Mathyssen. "I would describe it as soft porn, Playboy-type stuff...But it was still inappropriate in the House of Commons. It reflects an attitude about women. It is an objectification of women that I find very, very concerning."

One can only hope that Conservative MP James Moore sues Mathyssen for behaviour that is unbecoming not only of an MP, but of humans in general.

And speaking of apologies: Where is Karen Redman's? The Liberal MP was only too happy to hop aboard the Moore smear train without a smidgen of fact.

Still mathyssen thinks she was right, that she is a victim. Her apology is completely negated by her subsequent statements. If taliban jack has any brains he would eject this woman from caucus. She is a liability to the NDP. She is an embarrassment to the nation.
Perhaps the apologists for this petty small minded man hater, should see that the nation judges her to be wrong. Feminism is once again shown for what it is: man bashing to advance the death cult of feminism.
